I am posting every day during March as part of the annual "Slice of Life" Challenge for Two Writing Teachers. Check out their website for lots more reflections on teaching.
*******I am rushing to get out of the house,
another day,
a very, very busy day ahead,
double celebrations,
yet,
more time wasted,
as I look for my shoes,
my eyeglasses,
my jacket.
My backpack bumps my son's guitar and it plays a few notes.
"Ain't got time to play no guitar!," my husband jokes in a southern twang, as he holds the door for me.
My husband, a "Georgia boy," helps me head to school with a laugh and a smile.
Here's to a long day at school,
a Learning Showcase celebration with families this evening,
a late return home on my
26th wedding anniversary.
Happy Anniversary to my dear Tony!

A Story Collage by Evan
These two people are Zuren and Evan. And then a monster came
and he took all the colors and all the drawings and all the food and all the
dinner. Then we got fire to burn the big bad wolf and then he run away. The End
You poem captures what most mornings are like!
ReplyDeleteOh! Happy anniversary, Maureen!
ReplyDeleteI love how your poem captured the busy busy morning - and your son's joke - love it! And I'm so glad I stopped by because I think it is so neat that you have a daily preschool share. Awesome!!

--Ha this reminds me of one morning I was rushing to turn off the radio and the CD player came on playing a Bob Dylan song. The kids laughed hysterically when I shot out "Be quiet Bob!" nice glimps of morning craze--and Happy Anniversary!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY YOU CRAZY KIDS!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew it was The Learning Showcase. I would have totally swung by. Let me know when # 3 is!
